BEST OF 2016

With 2 days left of 2016, I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite looks from this year which also left me reflecting over what I absolutely loved and things I'd like to do differently with this upcoming fresh start. The prospect of a new year excites the hell out of me every time: New Year, New Feels, New Chances, Same Dreams, Fresh Beginnings. For many 2016 was the year of learning, which means we can move on to the next wiser and put those lessons into practice. I plan to spend the next few days re-organising EVERYTHING. I will be going in prepared and can not wait to share yet another chapter here with you guys.

Some of the latest snaps posted on my Instagram. It's officially 3 days until Christmas and everything is a little bit, well, manic! I think everyone is having the busiest time right now and I'm even considering working over the holidays this year... 'no rest for the wicked' as they say. I'm already thinking about goals and plans for 2017 but for now, a box of heroes is in front of me and I plan to spend the last week of this year eating as much chocolate as possible >.<

BLOG ON THE GO

There are some decisions that you never look back on in life, deciding to take on blogging full time is one of them for me. Although the uncertainty of being freelance is terribly daunting, I can't imagine ever living my life in any other way than 'on the go'  - the world is now my runway so to speak. Technology has become my bestfriend over the years and it's absolutely insane how much I've learnt along the way. You're looking at a girl who hated the slightest phone update to someone who now knows their way around a professional camera, editing software and even gets a kick out of looking at the latest equipment. I think I've finally adjusted to always carrying an extra bag around for my laptop, it's not that I don't leave home without it - it's I CAN'T. If I'm not sat at a coffee shop sending last minute emails, I'll be running from meeting to shoot with documents and mood boards and of course then comes Fashion Week where everything needs to be updated AS IT HAPPENS. I'm forever on the look out for the latest technology that will make my work easier when I heard about the worlds first laptop to measure less than 1cm thin, wow. Acer's New Swift 7 laptop has been the talk of the town with bloggers calling it small, stylish and compact. This beauty has a 9 hour battery life, 3X faster connections and a built in finger scanner so you don't have to enter a password - I think someone has been listening to my dream inventions. Thank you Acer God's.

THE COAT EDIT

Crossover Coat - Zara (Here)
Baker Boy Hat - Asos (Here)
Ribbed Turtle Neck -Boohoo (Here)
Coated Jeans - Asos (Here)
Hoop Bag - Forever 21 / Similar (Here)
Rope Boots - Missguided (Here)

Finding one coat that I absolutely adore and will wear more than any other is my every year goal for winter, this one won for 2016 but I'm positive that it will be a staple piece in my closet for a long time. Gold hardware is kinda my thing right now (or always) so when I spotted this in Dubai mall it was love. I usually live in beanie's when the weather is this cold but I have a new found love for the 'baker boy' style now too, they're a little less casual and it's nice to switch between from time to time. This is my go to look for a chilly day out, what's yours?

HOLIDAY SPIRIT

Fargo Faux Fur Coat - Anita & Green (Here)
Ribbed Turtle Neck - Boohoo (Here)
Coated Sculpt Me Jeans - Asos (Here)
Khaki Court Heel - 4th And Reckless (Here)
Bag - F21 / Similar (Here)

Today was the best kind of Monday - super festive! I met up with my mother and little sister at Selfridges for breakfast followed by completing almost all of my gift shopping way in advance for the first time ever. This whole not rushing around for last minute presents feels kindaaaa' great I must admit. I rekindled my love for fur whilst away in New York, I forgot how ridiculously warm and cosy it keeps you. I opted for a brighter colour this time with this coat from Anita & Green, how cute? matching 4th And Reckless heels and I'm ready to go!

YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO MUCH YOU

Ever since I can remember I wanted to be a lawyer. My oldest friends tell stories of a 7 year old me in class with them drawing pictures of 'A Judge' when given the task of putting on paper 'What you want to be when you grow up'. I'd always been a daddy's girl and daddy, this little girls superhero, was a Doctor who at the time was studying Law just out of interest. I always felt that my compassion meter was off the scale so working my way up in the legal system was how I'd help people. And that's exactly what I did. Law and Politics were my biggest passions so I went on to study them for 2 years - toying for a while with the option of becoming a politician instead - and then holy cow came the big Law School where I got my degree after another gruelling 3 years. The only problem was that I'd been modelling and blogging in between this time too, how could the two correlate? Black letter Vs creative, two very different worlds. I remember once being told I couldn't be "a jack of all trades" and how insulting and disheartening I found it. I realised quickly that there were many routes to building a platform where your voice could be heard but that wasn't the point... most importantly I learnt that YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT YOURSELF IN A BOX. You don't have to be either beautiful OR smart. Strong OR sensitive. Conservative OR creative. This OR that. That's not how it works and you sure as hell don't have to listen to anyone who tells you that.

Because of this I absolutely love that design house Georg Jensen has replaced models with role models in the new global campaign above to show that women can be themselves, make their own success and most importantly that: You can never be too much you. It spoke to me on a personal level when I read that Georg Jensen stands for 'women who embrace their voices and create their own path - and don’t let anyone else define them.' I'm so inspired by this campaign and I hope it can inspire you too.

Party season is upon us so you're probably trying to find the perfect dress - or not. For those who prefer a little tomboy chic, want to stay warm or simply fancy a change, there is definitely a head turning alternative. I love a smart blazer so when I saw that this velvet one came as a pant suit I knew it was an outfit I could wear on an occasion that I preferred something more comfortable. As part of Dorothy Perkin's Dress To Party campaign, this set has also been reduced - SCORE!

SOMEWHERE IN SOHO

Ribbed Turtle Neck - Boohoo (Here)
Button Trouser - H&M sold out /Similar (Here)
Crossbody Bag - F21 / Similar (Here)
Woven Scarf - H&M (Here)
Carolina Taupe Heel - Aldo /half price (Here)

My first day in New York looked a little like this, wandering around the fashion district. Surprisingly the weather happened to be warmer than London's winter for a change, we luckily caught the last week of it being 16 degrees - still chilly but warm enough to get away with none blizzard like outfits. These high waist button trousers may be my favourite find of 2016, they caught my eye while looking for a jumper in h&m and I just found out there is a flared version online too... mine! gold buttons are kind of a theme for this trip as you'll see coming soon.

PEARL AND RUBIES

Tuxedo Dress - Pearl And Rubies (Here)
Braided Heel - River Island (Here)
Watch - Cluse (Here)
Quilted Mini Crossbody Bag - F21/ Similar (Here)

Blair Waldorf said it best herself, owning a tuxedo is a must - that goes for the ladies now too since it has evolved itself over the years. Personally, any form of tux is a wardrobe essential for me as you may have noticed ;) my closet hasn't been shy to a few of these pieces... In fact, they're usually my first choice when thinking of a 'going out' outfit. My latest find is from Beirut based brand Pearl And Rubies who's pieces are all handmade using the petite couture method to ensure that they are unique, luxury items. This one was made especially for me and as you can see is a stunning fit.

DUBAI 16

2016 has been full of mainly short trips, but I couldn't miss my yearly visit to Dubai. I've been lucky enough to visit every year since I was a young girl owing to my father living in the middle east but the novelty never wears off. This time we had the pleasure of celebrating my BFF's birthday so it was a real blast! Here are some of the fit's I wore that you guys asked for so I've linked some below, bisous.

CLASSIC CLUSE

La Vedette Watch - Cluse Watches (Here)
Pinspot Camisole - Miss Selfridge (Here)
Croc Handbag - H&M (Here)
Fray Hem Jean - Miss Selfridge (Here)
Buckle Heels - Na-Kd (Here)

Finishing off this week in comfort with one of my go to looks. Cami's have always been a true wardrobe staple but this season they have exceeded even my expectations thanks to the 'chestfie'. I've seen a lot of chest's lately and I'm not complaining. I love the pinspot print on this one, perfect to took into some skinnies. No outfit would be complete without some arm candy, this time opting for something more understated with Le Vedette. Cluse Watches came out with a new collection, this time inspired by fashion icons of the past. Being considerably smaller, this piece gives an effortless look!
