THINK IN BLACK

Ribbed Turtle Neck - Boohoo (Here)
Leather Zip Skirt - Pink Soda / Similar (Here)
Ankle Boot Heels - Public Desire (Here)
Gold Studded Bag - La Moda / Similar (Here)
Half Frame Sunglasses - Asos (Here)

We all have them comfort zone/second nature type clothes, turtle necks and leather zip skirts are two of them for me. I went through a phase once of not only wearing turtle necks with everything but under everything too! they're the one thing you can always count on to come back in stores every year. The weather couldn't make its mind up this week so neither could I! humid but cloudy? okay I'll go for a hot and cold outfit haha. All the change didn't do me any favours this weekend though, I got so ill and ended up travelling, puking and going to my job with NO SLEEP after having hot sweats all night waiting for 5am to come. Luckily it was a hair shoot (which will be out in a few months) so I got to spend most of the day sat down but my god did we have an interesting day! On the way the taxi driver took me and the other model to the wrong manor which lead to us buzzing, a door opening on it's own and us stood in someone's huge mansion living room... all before phoning and realising we were in the wrong place. Seriously, it was like a real life horror movie scene :') luckily we ran out before anyone came. After all the antics of this weekend I think I need a bit of normality in bed with my favourite new series 'suits'.

CAMEL & COURTS

Camel Bodysuit - Pretty Little Thing (Here)
Ripped Jeans - Topshop (Here)
Tote Bag - Fiorelli (Here)
Half Frame Sunglasses - Asos (Here)
Fashion Bracelet / Similar (Here)
Nude Court Heels - Topshop (Here)

Here are some quick snaps I took today on my way out, nude with ripped jeans is always my easy go to look. I've stayed home on a huge catch up this week which has consisted of endless errands but it's good for me to have some down time as you guys know I get super overwhelmed with all the moving around being that structure freak that I am. Plus, the other side to full time blogging that most of you don't see is the hours on end sat on my laptop, a great playlist and humming along all day obviously makes this a breeze haha. Anyway, this weekend I will be back on the move again back to London for a few days and then to stay in a city I've never been to for a salon shoot so I'm pretty nervous... hopefully I find the hotel just fine but thinking about all the hours sat still travelling is making me tired already Zzzzz.

LACEY DREAMS

Lace Petal Dress - Fame and Partners (Here)

I'm like a magpie to shiny objects when it comes to lace, it really is 'my precious' and favourite obsession. Fame and Partners are known for their exquisite gowns but when I seen this one I knew it was about to be the prettiest dress I've ever owned... there's just something so ethereal and delicate about it that makes one feel as if they're floating when it's on. I was asked to give 5 styling tips to 'get the look' with this lace petal dress but I thought I'd share my tips on here with you guys too that can work with any gown:

1. Keep it clean and simple - with such a beautiful statement dress that speaks for itself, don't pair it with anything too overbearing, let the dress keep the spotlight.
2. Elegance will never go out of style - I set the mood to feminine and soft by styling my hair with loose waves but this dress would also look amazing with a subtle up-do to make the most of baring your shoulders.
3. Accentuate your physique - a floor length dress allows you to make your body look long and slender by pairing it with some trusty high heels.
4. Match your beauty products - I chose to go for a nude/neutral make up look to compliment the dress and of course white nails, never forget the nails.
5. You're a fame babe - with any fabulous ensemble, you need the attitude to match it! You're in your dream dress, you better work it.

PALM PRINTS

Wrap Shirt - River Island / Similar (Here)
Palm Green Shorts - Ivy Revel (Here)
Green Crystal Pendant - Helix and Felix (Here)
Retro Sunglasses / Similar at Asos (Here)

Here is a quick and cosy look I wore to grab lunch the other day which was light and airy for that killer heat wave that came out of the blue... and went right back into it. Tropical prints are so in for summer again but that doesn't mean you have to wear the loudest outfit, simply pairing them with a plain shirt and some small details gives you the easiest and subtle ensemble while looking like you made the effort. Green is my all time favourite colour so picking a palm print was easy and I had also been wanting to wear this beautiful crystal pendant which was the perfect accessory. I am so obsessed with bohemian inspired jewelry and kinda always have been. When I came accross Helix and Felix who specialise in these hippy/gypsy/boho pieces I was like a kid in a candy store. I think I might always have this fantasy of being the kind of person who lives in a forest head to toe in boho threads and obviously on a white horse, you know?

CLASSIC BASICS

T-shirt - Ivy Revel (Here)
Silver Buckle Belt - H&M / Similar (Here)
Denim Shorts / Similar at Asos (Here)
Tassel Heels - Missguided (Here)
Milano Sunglasses - Ross & Brown (Here)
Quilted Bag - Anna Smith / Similar (Here)

When I think of simple classic fits, white tee's and denim shorts always come to mind! This duo has been worn and worked for... ever. My favourite thing to do on a sunny day - except sip on coffee outside with my love which turned out to be a great shoot location - is to throw on my trusty ripped denim shorts with a plain belt and any top I can find to tuck in, pure comfort. The last thing I am is a hoarder, I happily get rid of any garments I know won't be worn again! but when it comes to denim shorts, the perfect pair are simply a rare find which is why I can't even link this specific pair... I've been holding on to them for years. To be honest, I think the older, more worn out and crumpled up the better haha. Also, can we just talk about how fabulous these Ross&Brown sunglasses are? seriously, this mirrored lens trend is genius! talk about an easy way to sass up a look.

TOUT NOIR

Sleeveless Blouse - Similar at Asos (Here)
Lola Skater Skirt - My Bandage Dress (Here)
Nina Grey Bag - Mou London (Here)
Caged Heel - Ego (Here)

Sweet and simple, you can't go wrong with an all black outfit! especially if it fits you like a glove like this My Bandage Dress waist cinching skater skirt. I'm always so happy when I find items that don't need tugging and fixing, their sizing is to die for and I love how bandage material stays exactly where it's supposed to. I also added a little touch of grey with an item I'm obsessed with at the moment, chain strap body bags are the latest chic accessory to finish off your outfit and this one is definitely a whole lot of luxury. When building a wardrobe there's always timeless pieces that I think are best to invest in and Mou London only use the best materials while keeping it ethical and environmentally friendly which is a win win for me. Pop on a pair of killer heels and you're good to go!

TREND SPOTTER

Lace up's hit all our favourite stores from designer to high street not long ago and they have gone from strength to strength - flats, pointed, heels, gladiator and even all the way up your leg! there is absolutely nothing that they don't make look better, they really dress up an outfit or even give it that classic chic finish such as the black pointed flats that are so popular right now. Above I have linked some of my favourite styles if you're looking for the perfect pair to get your hands on.

STAY MOTIVATED

Yellow Sports Bra & Leggings - Peaches Sportswear (Here) / (Here)
Roshe Run Trainers - Nike (Here)

Getting motivated is a task for all of us, staying motivated is a whole other story! if you think you're alone don't be fooled, there is not one of us who doesn't have that off day or wake up with a total 'can I cancel today and go back to bed' mindset. I myself am one of them, which is why this summer I've done my utmost to get rid of those thoughts and find ways to stay motivated, positive and raring to go.

Look The Part

It's no surprise this tip is the first considering my bright choice of gym wear in the images above, but it is oh so effective. Let's be honest, the way we dress has a serious impact on the way we feel and working out is no exception. It's the same with anything really, If I have a brand new dress to go out in, it ups the excitement and your mood for the night. Furthermore, if you look the part you're more likely to go ahead with the task. If you get up and put a shirt on, you're most likely off to work. Try putting on your gym wear first thing, it's amazing how we can trick the mind into what we should do next.

Get Your Mind Right

Everything begins and ends with our thoughts! positive thinking evokes more energy, more initiative and more happiness. Sometimes staying motivated is a battle... against yourself! Things such as yoga and meditation can have a huge impact on controlling your mind and turning those no's into a big YES. Sacrifice some of your evening TV time and try some of these activities to make sure you're ready to take charge of the next day.

Prepare the Popular Playlist

This works for me in every part of my life, not just working out. If I have a fresh playlist that I want to listen to, I will happily sit at my desk for hours editing while singing along. Also, I don't know about you but certain songs make my body want to get up and jump around whether I like it or not haha! these are the types of playlists you need to put together to keep up the energy. I also  have a new little routine where I will listen to motivational speeches before I go to sleep which has been really helping my mood lately, I think I will do a separate in depth post on this.

Mix It Up

I'm the type of person that avoids change, I get stuck on one thing that I have come to be comfortable with. The problem with this is it gets boring, once the body has done something so many times it is no longer a challenge. This week I went and bought skipping ropes and colourful small weights to keep at home! I figured since my little sister is on her summer holidays it was something we could both have fun with and do together... let's just say she had me in the garden all day.

Wake Up Call

Like everything in life, the novelty soon wears off and you find yourself slipping back into your old ways. Every time I watch a food documentary I'm horrified and go 0-100 real quick deciding to basically avoid everything that comes in a packet and join the rabbit life haha. After a few months I get less disturbed and start up the bad habits bit by bit. Therefore, every now and then I like to give myself a reminder! put a documentary on, read some articles or even just look up some yummy clean recipes. I'm not saying we should ever cut out everything like I want to in my panic moments - but it's good to keep a healthy perspective on how we should be treating our bodies.

Write It Down

If I write something down, there's a much higher chance that I'll do it... this is basically how I got through my law degree (I'm sure you guys will remember the pictures of my walls covered in writing). When it all gets a bit too much for my mind, I put it down on paper BIG & BOLD and stick it to the wall. Set goals, and write them down. This way you have a constant reminder and let's be honest, when something is written down and you fail to do it, you feel way more guilty because it's a sign of where you could have been by now if you had started when you should have.
